Organize
During your student life you are going to find yourself inundated with information, papers and books so you will need some kind of system to make sure you don’t lose anything and you know exactly where to go for the information you need. You are also going to have to organize your time much more than you have had to before. There is going to be a lot more pressure on your time with coursework, social and maybe even part timework all demanding your time.

Keep away from the Credit Cards
Credit Cards, Loans and overdrafts might seem like a good idea at the time and a quick and easy way to access a lot of money, however long term they could end up costing you a lot. Banks don’t offer you money because they like giving it away; they do it in order to make money, a lot of money.

Keep track of your spending
This could be an invaluable habit to get into. The chances are that your are going to find yourself with a limited budget while at college so its important you keep track of what your spending so you never find yourself running out at the end of the month.

Textbook
If you need any special books for your course try finding some second hand ones to help bring down the cost a little, there are a number of websites where you can buy second hand books for reasonable prices. If money is really tight you could also try borrowing books from the library, though libraries have limited copies so make sure you can get hold of a copy as soon as you find out you need it.

Nights Out
Nights out are almost as much of college and university life as studying. Yet if you are finding yourself on a tight budget, nights out can be a real expensive business and you may even have to cancel plans with friends. No one wants this so try setting yourself a strict budget when you go out, leave your cards at home so you only can spend the money you have on you at the time, alternatively why not have a night in, you can buy drinks much cheaper from shops and supermarkets than bars so get the drinks in and invite your friends round for a cheap night in.
