VoIP in-line to beat landline calls in 2011
With the New Year fast approaching maybe you should make it your new year’s resolution to try something new in 2011.
What better to do this than with VoIP, a service that looks to beat traditional landline calls this year.
VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) is a cheap, simple and effective service that can improve both your short and long distance calls.
VoIP utilises your internet connection, taking the normal phone signal to be converted to digital and sent out across the web.
This is then converted back into the normal speech once it is received at the opposite end, with the results being much like a typical phone call.
You may think this would require new hardware, someone to come and fit install the hardware and mounds of cost at the end of the process, but think again.
You could potentially have everything that you need in your home already, with all that you requiring being a computer or digital phone, modem/router with internet access and a package from a service provider.
This means that you could be pretty much set up for VoIP straight away and can potentially be up and running with VoIP in a matter of days.
One of the great advantages of VoIP though is the ability to make your calls to a friend down the street or even a relative in abroad all within the same package with certain service providers.
This means that you can make your VoIP calls in the same way you make your normal landline phone calls without having to worry about the restrictions.
Speaking of no restrictions, with a VoIP phone you will be able to make calls with your service, anywhere where there is an internet connection with your hardware.
This is great if you are always on the go and want to be able to use a price effective way of making calls without being restricted to your desk at home, something that landline phones are restricted to.
You also have the ability to never change your number with VoIP and stick to your old phone number, or change it if you so desire.
This is also the case if you are moving from country to country making calls, so no worry if you are on the move all around the world.
VoIP is also very practical with an array of features that match or even go beyond the service offered by normal landline phones.
For example, you will still have access to a dialling tone, voice caller ID and voicemail, as available with typical landline phones.
But with VoIP, certain service providers can give you access to conference calls, so you can be talking to multiple people all over the world in a single conversation.
The voicemail service can also be accessed from your internet account, meaning you can access all of your important messages from anywhere you have your computer nearby.
It is easy to see then the advantages that VoIP has over typical landline phones, so expect VoIP to be on the rise in 2011.
